In 2015 we created the team Millie's Marchers to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's in downtown Frisco. We had friends and family join us on a beautiful Saturday morning to help raise funds to find a cure for this horrible disease that robs otherwise healthy individuals of their dignity and quality of life. Unfortunately, it took my Mom way too early. She passed on Memorial Day May 30, 2016. She was diagnosed in 2012. We never thought we would lose her this soon, or that the Walk in 2015 would be her first and last Walk. She had so much fun and kept saying "these people are here to support me?" with a big grin on her face. That's one thing about my Mom, she smiled to the very end. She was never bitter or never complained about anything. She never met a stranger and touched everyone in a special way. We miss her so much!!
If you can, please join us for the Walk to End Alzheimerr' s on October 17th. Due to the Coronavirus, we will be walking in our neighborhoods, or wherever you may be that day. It will be a virtual event where if you download the Walk App, you can hear inspiring messages and even be given a walk path through your neighborhood and count your steps! For donations, please donate to the team: Millie's Marchers. Thanks!!
