My husband and I both have lost our moms to forms of Alzheimer. We are also watching other loved ones suffer through the same disease and we so want this disease eradicated. Unless you’ve walked this road it is hard for someone to understand the devastation, frustration, sadness and yet love that comes with this disease. It’s hard enough to lose a loved one but even harder to see one just disappear before your eyes and yet physically they are still present. While I know there are other diseases that do the same, most of those individuals are coherent and cognizant of the world around them. Alzheimer patients don’t have that ability. I would love to see the first Alzheimer's survivor, so your participation, along with us, in this fundraiser would be a step to walking toward that hope.
Statistics: Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I cannot begin to tell you what your support would mean, but it is greatly needed and would be greatly appreciated.
Much love, Cindy & David
