As most of you know, my mom lost her battle with Alzheimer's disease in September of 2018. It's hard to believe it's been almost a year already! I miss her terribly, but am thankful that she is no longer suffering. Last year's Walk to End Alzheimer's was just days after her passing however I did my own "Walk" with dear friends as we were already scheduled to backpack Rim-to-Rim in the Grand Canyon (25+ miles) during that time. God knew exactly what I would need during that time of deep grief. I felt Mom cheering me on as I spent days outside soaking in God's glorious creation.
This year I would like to ask my local friends to join me on this important day by walking beside me. It's only 2 very flat miles! Together we can make a real difference in the fight against the nation's sixth-leading cause of death. Registration is easy; simply visit my Walk to End Alzheimer's participant page and join my team.
If you're unable to physically walk with me, please consider making a donation to my fundraising campaign. Every dollar advances the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association®.
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
