My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in June 2014. Therefore, I am four times more likely to be diagnosed with the disease myself. On December 17, 2017 my father passed away. Our beloved Flurry is one of our guardian angels.
I am walking for 3 reasons. First, I want to honor my father who lived with the disease with courage, dignity and humor; my mother who was his incredible primary caregiver and continues to be an advocate for all caregivers; my siblings, nieces and nephews as well as our spouses, our aunts, uncles, cousins, countless friends, neighbors, colleagues and even strangers who have joined the army of ALZ awareness and support us along this journey. Secondly, I want to raise money to advance the incredible research going on in the field of Alzheimer’s. Funding=Research=Prevention or Cure. I am certain that with increased funding and volunteers, the next generation will have a stronger defense against the disease. Finally, I want to promote healthy brain activities. Walking is good for the brain.
If you can, please donate to our team – either financially or by joining us on the day of the walk! Together I am confident we will find a cure to #ENDALZ. Let's get to work!
Thank you for joining the fight for our future.
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
