Last year, I was too heartbroken and tired to participate in the walk, I just couldn't muster the strength.. This year, I have started my new personal journey but never forgetting a second of what my mother and my family went through with this disease. I know there are other families who are on the same journey or may be about to embark very shortly and I am ready to do my part and help lead the way to find a cure for this awful disease. I honor my mother Marion and all my friends' parents by participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
