Thirteen years ago, my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. What started out as mild memory loss and confusion has progress to the point where my mom can no longer speak, feed herself, or enjoy any daily activities. She no longer recognizes the people she cared for and loved for her entire life. It is heartbreaking to watch someone you love slowly disappear.
By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, I want to help prevent others from experiencing what my mom and my family have endured. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Consider joining me for the walk. And, please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
