Taking part of the Alzheimer's Memory Walk is more then just a walk to me. It's a way to make my memories of my grandparents come back alive. My grandfather passed away in 1995 and was diagnosed with the Alzheimer's Disease a few years earlier. My grandmother passed away in 1998 and she had dementia. I was just about to turn 13 when my pop pop passed and my nanny passed away the day before my sweet 16. As a young child I didn't know or understand what this disease was or why it had to take the people I loved away. My family didn't have the information or the resources that we now have. We didn't even know that they had this Memory Walk. I've been dedicated in raising awareness since 2000. By fundraising for the Alzheimer's Association, I fell like I'm doing my part and making my grandparents proud.
By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer research, care and support.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
