My profession allows me to care for many individuals suffering from Alzheimer's, so I see how this deteriorating disease affects them and they're family.
When your own loved one is diagnosed, however, it's much different. I saw first hand how this disease truly affected not only my Grams, but my mother who gave her all to provide the best care possible.
My heart broke to see my mother feeling defeated, lost, hopeless at times and burnt out as she was slowly losing her mother. How great would it be if there was a world without Alzheimer's?!!
I'm helping reclaim the future for millions by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's(R). Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you. Please consider making a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure.
