The Jewish Federation of Lane County is pleased to have a team in the Walk to End Alzheimer's for the fourth year in a row, which will take place Sunday October 13, 2019. Last year we received an award as the top faith-based fundraising team in the entire Walk! This year we are back again and looking to do even better. The Alzheimer's Association has a regional office in Eugene, and funds raised are divided between 1) supporting education, programs and services for those individuals currently diagnosed with dementia, along with their loved-ones, care partners and families; 2) creating and advocating for public policy that supports these individuals and their care partners and families; and 3) supporting medical research to bring us closer to a cure for Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
Last year the local Alzheimer's Association office provided twelve support groups, a weekly art class, 77 education programs, care consultations and information, educational materials, a 24/7 Helpline, trainings for local caregivers and care community staff, and is just starting an art class in partnership with the Jordan Schnitzer Art Museum. All Association programs and services are free to the public, thanks to the fundraising we do at the Walk.
Please consider joining the Jewish Federation Team!
