I'm helping to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association because I understand the effects of this disease, since I am currently working on earning my PhD in Adult Development and Aging. I also have a personal connection with Alzheimer's.
When I was 13, my great-grandma Mary passed away after her 7 year battle with Alzheimer's. At the time, I didn't realize what Alzheimer's was (let alone even pronounce it correctly). Throughout my studies, I have come to realize how devastating this disease can be and will continue to support this organization until a cure is found. I have also experienced the impact of Alzheimer's outside of my family. During my senior year of college, I completed a 16-week internship in a memory care unit at an assisted living facility. I was again reminded of how prevalent this disease is and the effects it has on not only the individual, but their family as well.
Please consider donating to help support this cause. Any amount will help and your donation is TAX DEDUCTIBLE!!
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
