I lost both my Grandma and GrandMamie to Alzheimer's disease. They are why I work and walk to end Alzheimer's. I saw what this disease does firsthand and no one should have to experience it, but unfortunately many do.
I spent a lot of time (and baked a lot of chocolate pies) with my Grandma while she was going through the stages of this disease. I looked through the same photo albums with her over and over, and listened to her stories about growing up on a farm. I'd ask her to tell me her silly rhyme games, even though I knew them by heart. As a child, I thought if she repeated these things enough she'd stop forgetting them. That wasn't so, but I remember the stories and rhymes and I carry them with me always.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
