Alzheimer’s disease is relentless. So are we. Join our team for the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, the world’s largest event to raise awareness.
Last year our St Joseph's team joined together with our friends and families to support Jim Gulley, a parish member who lives with Alzheimer's, plus many others including our relatives, friends and community neighbors. Our mighty group raised over several $thousand dollars and we had a lot of fun before and during the Walk.
This year we continue our support of all those who are fighting Alzheimer's disease or who have fought this disease. We plan to walk on October 12th at Frontier Field. We invite you to join our team and walk along with us to show our support in finding a cure for or a significant treatment for ALZ and other forms of dementia. We also honor those who have fought Alzheimer's Disease and are no longer physically with us. There is no greater gift that we can give to one another than our time and compassion.
You don't need to be an athlete to participate in the walk (although we invite all you who walk miles each week). In previous WALK's we have been joined by many young moms toting or pushing young kids in strollers. Some of us take the short course and enjoy the early autumn day as we walk a bit more slowly with the help of very colorful walking sticks, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs. Many of those who walk with us are those we see each weekend in nearby senior living centers. All are welcome...and needed if we're to meet our ambitious goal.
