I hope you will be so kind to support “Team Sloanzone” once again in our fight to end Alzheimer’s. Despite the COVID crisis, the race to find a cure does not stop. Now more than ever, the Alzheimer’s Association needs your help in providing critical care and support services to those suffering from the disease. Did you know? Alzheimer’s is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 5 million Americans are currently living with the disease. Your support of the 2020 Walk is so vital in advancing research towards prevention, treatment and, ultimately, a cure.
My family, like so many others, has been impacted directly by this dreadful disease. My mom, Jean, lived with cognitive dementia for many years. I witnessed my mom’s fast and steady decline. As her personal caregiver, I saw first-hand how this disease stole my mom’s ability to walk; her ability to talk; and her ability to eat. Sadly, my mom took her last breath on November 28, 2018.
Today, I honor my mother’s memory by participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimers. This year’s Walk on October 10th will have a new look. Instead of our usual large gathering at Frontier Field, participants like “Team Sloanzone” will be walking throughout our community to advance the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association. Last year, with your help, we raised over 1-thousand dollars in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This year, I hope you will consider donating on behalf of a family member or friend that has been impacted by this deadly disease. My mom and I thank you for your support and generosity.
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
