I am walking in honor and memory of my mom Lorraine Stepien Szul. She was a loving, vibrant caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend was diagnosed ago at the age of 60 with early onset dementia (Alzheimer's). It was devastating news, as no one in our family has ever had dementia or Alzheimer's before. When mom found out her diagnosis her first thought was she didn't want to be a burden on anyone and how could she help so no one else would get this horrible disease. That is why she volunteered for clinical trials to find a cure and was very active in the Alzheimer's Association. My father Roman Szul, was her full time caregiver throughout every stage of the disease. On November 15th, 2016 surrounded by her loving family, mom got all her memories back and is rejoicing now in heaven. Mom loved being with her grandchildren and we know she’s is loving on all 6 of her grandchildren from heaven. But how we wish, if there had been a cure she would be around to enjoy them as she should right now. Early on in her diagnosis my parents made it their mission to help fund and support research to find a cure for this horrible disease. If you can donate even just $5 it would help our cause. Thank you so much! My Dad has now been an Ambassador for the Alzheimer's Association and continues to work hard to raise awareness and find a cure for this horrible disease. And I am on the planning Committee for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Canandaigua near where we live. The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you. Please make even a small donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure. Thank you for joining the movement!
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
