I walk for my family. We lost my Grandma Lupe to Alzheimer's five years ago, and not a day goes by that I don't miss her kind smile, gentle corrections, and beautiful faith. I am so sad my little one will never know her- I know she would have made him laugh.
My husband's Grandma Shirley's diagnosis drove the prevalence of this disease home. We were lucky to see the joy on her face when she found out she would have another great-grandchild, but two years later, the disease has taken her most recent memories from her.
