This year, I will participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's without my mother, Ann. She celebrated the first of her grandchildren to marry on June 12, and she died on August 3. While Covid likely hastened her death, she had lived remarkably with dementia for more than eight years.
I'm again walking with a team of friends who loved Helen Wright and who passionately desire to see progress toward a cure. While we wait, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and the number is growing. The impact on those with the disease and with their caregivers is staggering from a national perspective. I've yet to meet a family that was fully prepared.
I am walking for those who come after my mother. For a research breakthrough that reveals the causes, for treatments that actually stop or slow the disease, for support for patients and families. Please join me with a contribution, by walking with our team, or in spirit. Many thanks!
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
