I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 14 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
My grandmother lived with this disease for the last 12 years of her life. I was able to go down and experience firsthand what it meant to care for someone with Alzheimer's. My grandfather, my mom, and her other siblings took wonderful care of her and it was a privilege to spend that time with her.
As we all know, 2020 has been somewhat of a tumultuous year. My mom was also diagnosed with this disease earlier this year. If you know my mom at all, you know that she is one of the strongest people you will ever meet. I admire her so much because she fully relies on the Lord every single day of her life. She is such a great role model for me, along with so many others.
My family and I have participated in the walk to end Alzheimer's in the past. Tomorrow, however, it will be a privilege to walk in this event in memory of my Maw Maw, and in honor of my Momma.
The Alzheimer's Association has done incredible work in the lives of so many people. Would you consider donating to the cause of finding a cure for this disease? My family and I would greatly appreciate it! Would you also consider praying for, not only my family, but for the lives of all who are experiencing this journey together?
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
