Most who know me know that my father suffered with Alzheimer's as well as ALS. This year, in memory of him and for all those who are affected by this disease, I'll be walking in the Alzheimer Associations Walk to End Alzheimer's. Thankfully, there have been great strides made since my father lost his battle in 1980 but there is more work to be done.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease. Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease.
