It has been such a privilege to work at the Alzheimer's Association over the past 2 years. I continue to be reminded of my own family's story and how very real and widespread this disease is.
This year, I'm dedicating my walk efforts to the memory of my Grandmother who loved her family and cherished her memories with all of us (this picture shows how happy she was even in the late stages). We lost her in May, 2018 and we certainly feel her loss this walk season! I'm also walking in honor of my Father-in-law, Ralph Sayles, who is currently fighting this terrible disease.
I have had the privilege to get to know many stories of those impacted by the Association and the great work we're doing on all fronts - care and support, research, public policy and advocacy and raising awareness.
I'm walking to help reclaim the future for millions. By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research, care and support.
Currently, 5.8 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
