As many of you know, this cause is near and dear to my heart since my Dad was diagnosed with dementia a little over 3.5 years ago (just a few days shy of his 61st birthday). Since his initial diagnosis, it has changed several times but finally landed os Early Onset Alzheimer’s. As my family navigates this terrible disease, I see the daily toll it takes on him, my step-mom, and my family. Since his initial diagnosis, my grandmother (known to many of you as GrannyJack) has also been diagnosed with dementia and is now living in an assisted living facility. While their symptoms often show up differently, it certainly doesn’t make it any easier for my family to deal with. I know that a cure will not happen during their lifetimes, but I can only hope to make some type of impact in helping to find a cure for this disease for others.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. If you would like to join my team to walk in the Charlotte walk, you may do so by clicking on this link.
