My mom, Anna Andrews, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in April 2018 and has recently moved back to her "home place" where she grew up and still retains a lot of fond memories from her childhood. She has 24/7 caregivers and continues to want to be on the go starting out her days at either Silver Spoon or Elmo’s for breakfast followed by shenanigans around town! Mom remains somewhat active in the church, going to Seniors on Tuesdays, as well as meetings and events with her circle group. We are very thankful for her church and community friends that go above and beyond to keep her going and involved! There were many highlights of 2019 for mom...a trip to North Dakota to visit her grandson, a 75th surprise birthday party, Team Nanna raising over $13k for Alzheimer's research, a girls trip to New York City, and her biggest highlight was adding a new addition to the family...Holly, a miniature long-haired dachshund puppy. (Holly and Mom have an unbreakable bond and both are very high maintenance but sweet!) We look forward to making more memories in 2020. #walkn4weezie #TeamNanna

We are leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's(R). Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
