Tom finally lost his smile in the last couple of months before he passed on. The terrors of his advanced Alzheimer's disease made even the simplest thing scary for him, there was nothing more that I could do to calm his fears. The end was merciful in that his fears were finally gone, but then so was he. He left us quietly. I hope to always remember his kindness, but until this disease is vanquished, I cannot afford to rest easy. I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this
Wont you honor Tom by joining the rest of us Turkeys?. Every dollar raised brings us that much closer to realizing the goal of ending this awful disease.
