This is a very personal plea to all of those of you who have been impacted (or not yet) by Alzheimer's or related dementias -- devastating diseases for which there is currently no treatment so slow, prevent, or stop.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by being a team captain in the Springfield MO Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our country's financial future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
We have quadrupled research funding for Alzheimer's and related dementias in the last four years and are showing significant research advances as a result. We need to continue the momentum we have accomplished!
My very intelligent, independent mom died of this disease far too soon in 2005, as have so many others you know. She never got the chance to meet her grandchildren.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
