Thank you for visiting my page and for your ongoing love and support. So many of you have helped me to reach my past fundraising goals and for that, I could never thank you enough. I truly appreciate your generosity and kindness more than my words can adequately express.
As most of you know, my mom Eva (lovingly known as "Babi" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren), passed away on June 18, 2015 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was so strong and fought incredibly hard until her very last breath. Although her journey was difficult, I am convinced that she wanted to be with her family as long as possible and we wanted to be with her. Many would ask if my mom knew who I was... to be honest, it really wasn't the most important thing to me. She was my mom and we loved each other unconditionally. It is true that the management of her care was often very challenging, but nothing compared to the pain of saying goodbye forever.
Sadly, far too many people like my beautiful mom have had the course of their lives changed by Alzheimer's disease and there are just too many startling statistics: In the United states, someone develops Alzheimer's every 65 seconds. Currently, an estimated 5.7 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to multiply to as many as 16 million by 2050. Almost two-thirds of Americans with Alzheimer's are women and one in three seniors dies with Alzheimer's or another dementia.
Please help me in my ongoing mission to raise money and awareness. Together, we can join forces to improve the quality of those lives afflicted with Alzheimer's and ultimately help to bring an end to this devastating disease. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Thanks again for joining me in this fight. The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with us!
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
