This cause is extremely personal to me and my family - my dear mother was diagnosed with this terrible disease over 7 years ago. The disease has progressed so far that she does not walk or speak and needs help with every aspect of her life. My father faithfully visits her several times a week at her home at Diamond Willow and I have been fortunate to have outside visits with her all summer. We have learned so much as my mother continues her journey, and we will always be grateful for her compassionate and wonderful caregivers at Diamond Willow.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
