I have a connection to each and every resident I've ever cared for. But sometimes someone comes along that you just connect with a smidge more. Mr. Kessler stole my heart the second he strolled through the door. I think of him everyday and am so blessed to have had the privilege of caring for him in his last year's. He impacted so many people in his lifetime, and continues tondo so even after he's gone. I've participated in this walk for many years but it's a personal mission now to raise as much money for research as possible now that I don't get to see his smile anymore. So with his family's permission this year I will be walking in memory of Raymond Kessler.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's(R). Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
