Alzheimer's and Memory Disorders
As West Michigan’s first and most experienced Alzheimer’s disease and memory disorders program, our goals are to accurately diagnose and manage all patient and caregiver needs related to memory disorders or dementia. Our unique patient/caregiver-centered approach to care involves a specialized team that includes a physician, medical social worker, nurse practitioner, neuropsychologists nurse navigators and pharmacist.
• Diagnosis confirmation and follow-up care
• Memory loss medication management
• Mood and behavior management
• Support for medical, legal and residential placement options
• Connection to caregiver resource and support services
• Caregiver support group
• Comprehensive patient education
"The earlier we get a diagnosis, the more effective we can be in managing the progression of Alzheimer's or other memory disorders," says Dr. Foley, a staff physician for Mercy Health Hauenstein Neurosciences who serves as the medical director for the Alzheimer's Disease and Memory Disorders Service. "We want people to remain optimistic. We make sure people don’t feel that all is lost when they receive a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s."
By supporting the Alzheimer's Association and the Walk to End Alzheimer's, we are working together to support research to help us better treat our patients and, ultimately, find a cure.
But we can't do it alone.
Join our team!
Not only are we asking for support in raising funds, we want to have team members from across the region at the Walk, showing West Michigan that we are dedicated to fighting Alzheimer's disease.
Thank you for joining us.
