The annual Walk to End Alzheimer's Disease will be held in Central Massachusetts on Sunday, October 4, 2020. But, like so many events in these interesting times, it will look different. Teams will walk together but not as one large, inspiring group. But we will be spread out throughout the area, bring perhaps more visibility to the cause.
Even if this year's walk is essentially virtual, Alzheimer's Disease is most certainly not. For the 5 million people living with Alzheimer's Disease and their care partners, the COVID-19 pandemic has put even more challenges in their paths. Many programs that provide stimulation and relief have closed or reduced services. Facilities serving those with Alzheimer's Disease have worked hard to connect residents with their families although the lockdowns have proven challenging and even devastating.
As an Aging Life Care™ professional, I work with families every day who are confronting Alzheimers Disease and related disorders and their devastating effects. I walk in honor and in memory of all of my clients who are or were affected by these terrible diseases. I have also confronted this disease in my own family.
My personal goal this year is $3,500. I am the captain of JHC On The Move. As the director of JHC LifeCare, I provide independent advocacy and support to families and older adults. I am excited to be working within a larger organization and to have more opportunities to raise funds as a team. I invite you to join us in walking and raising funds from your own contacts. I welcome your company and your support. Contributions in any amount are very important and very much appreciated.
If you would rather not walk, please visit the website at My Fundraising Page http://act.alz.org/goto/JHContheMove_Deb or, if you prefer, you can send a check to the Alzheimer's Association to me at 92 Barry Road, Worcester, MA 01609. I will forward it to the Association.
Together we can make a difference!
All the best,
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
