I'm walking in memory of Diane E. Deane, my wife Caitlin's grandmother, who suffered from Alzheimer's for the final 10 years of her life. I'm also walking in memory of Austin Deane, Diane's loving husband of 68 years and her primary caregiver until his passing. One of my biggest regrets is that I did not meet my wife's beloved Grammie until after her diagnosis, but her legacy lives on in the many quilts and designs she crafted and the stories of her kindness and dedication to her friends and family.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 14 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
