Dear Friends and Family,
During these sad, trying and uncertain times the Alzheimer’s Association has persevered, helping families and patients confront Alzheimer’s Disease under these most difficult of circumstances. The Alzheimer's Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter created a landing page with local resources around COVID-19 for families, AlzHereForYou.org. During this time, the Association has offered all of their resources virtually, which includes educational programs, support groups, early stage programs and programs for professional caregivers.
All of us are fearful, confused, and bewildered by the current situation; imagine the increased confusion that patients with AD experience and the increased burden on caretakers and family. The Alzheimer's Association has continued to help with invaluable resources. This is why our family will once again participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease on September 27, 2020 and to honor the memory of our dear father, David Cooper.
It is 18 years since Dad’s death and 29 years since his diagnosis. Our entire family misses him and all that he did not live to enjoy, including the birth of Ayla Pollock Babchuck in November 2019. Ayla’s Hebrew name is Ayla Davora, named after her great-grandparents, Audrey and David. Audrey was so proud at her naming ceremony and we know Ayla will grow up to honor these two amazing people by her deeds and actions.
The walk will be different this year (as most everything is). Our family will pick a route and walk together sharing memories of Dad. At 96 years, we hope mom will be able to join us, but we know she will be there in spirit.
You may donate by going directly to our fundraising page http://act.alz.org/goto/MarionPollock, or mailing checks to Marion at 32 Locksley Road Newton Center, MA 02459, or to The Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452 (please note on your check that your donation should be attributed to Marion Pollock).
Your kindness and support has sustained us and helped us to be one of the leading walk fundraisers in Massachusetts for over 15 years. We thank you for any support you can provide and as always, our hope is that the younger generations of our family will live in a world without Alzheimer's.
With love, appreciation and wishes for your good health,
Marion and Ranny for The Cooper Pollock Family
