Hello, I am Mary Strickland Murphy and again this year I'm walking in remembrance of my Dad, Robert Strickland Sr. and My Gramma Marion Alling My aunt Irene McCrumb. My dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's when he was 65. He passed away from this heartbreaking disease at 72. We slowly watched him go from a smart, energetic, loving man to a person that no longer knew his family or friends, wandering from home, to not being able to stand much less walk. The most heart breaking point for me was when I called him dad and he told me that I was not his daughter. It was then I knew my Dad was gone. He was a part of the Rineyville community for many years. He frequented the Liar's table at The Grill and was a member of the Rineyville Optimist club and St John's Church and the Cecilian Bank. Many people in the community knew him and loved him. Now my beautiful mother is now showing signs of stage 3 dementia/Alzheimer's. The woman who raised 8 children, stood by her husband of 53 yrs. and took care of him through the battle of Alzheimer's. I hope to help raise funds and awareness so someday no family has to go through this horrible disease. I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide. Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with us.
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
