We all have been effected by or know someone that has been effected by Alzheimer's. It is a terrible disease. I knew my grandma was having some memory problems but it really hit home when my grandma turned to my grandpa and asked him to go get her coat because she was ready to go home. We were at there house, but she wanted to back to previous home as that is all she could remember. Grandpa would soon begin asking from time to time if he and grandma could come visit in the evenings, as she wanted to go home and he need to take a drive to make it seem like they had traveled home. Soon after, she could no longer recognize her grandkids. The disease effects each person's mind differently. Some make it years, some last months.I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
