Hi Friends! It's that time of year again. The Walk to End Alzheimer's will be on October 3, 2020.
For those who are unaware, our father, Larry, was diagnosed in January 2019 and it has been tough on him and our whole family. Until you see it firsthand, it’s kind of hard to conceive how brutal it really is. Not only does it affect your loved one, it affects you. There are many challenges day in and day out. What may work today, may not tomorrow.
There have been many nights we have all sat alone at home reading up on this illness to better understand what exactly he is feeling, what he’s going through, why he says/does certain things and what could potentially happen in the future. There are endless amounts of articles and information. To be honest, it scares the heck out of us all.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Please consider making a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. We exceeded our goal for 2019 and would LOVE to exceed our new goal we set for 2020.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's! ♥
