I struggled when to share this, and now that we have passed our one year without Cheryl milestone, It is time.
My goal is to raise 5500 dollars for team Cheryl's Holy Walkamolies - Normal for the Walk to End Alzheimers.
Last years walk was our first without Cheryl. What a difference it makes when your journey through this disease ends and you start to realize the big picture. (you know, bigger than you and your daily struggles). I was able to see what goes into how important it is for everyone to come on board and make the walk not only a great success, but for people to learn what is available through the association.
At this years walk, you will find some changes, hopefully all good. If you have not been to a walk for a while, let me encourage you to join us. You will be glad you did. (Spoiler alert! There may be food available after the walk this year, more to come!)
Even though Cheryl has gone home, my family has benefited so much from the Alzheimer's Association and continue to do so because Kara, Kevin and I all volunteer and we want to give back even more.
This is year four of the friendly competition between Normal, Indianapolis and West Chester. As some of you may know, Kevin has moved to Indianapolis, and this makes the competition a little lop sided as now we only have two teams, Indianapolis and Normal. Our goal as a team this year is to raise more than 8000 dollars. Please help the Myers' team honor Cheryl in the best way we can and raise more money than ever.
The Alzheimer's Association does more than try to find a cure. They provide support for those with Alzheimer's and other dementias and for those who care for them. The Alzheimer's Association has made a difference for our family and that is why we volunteer, raise money and awareness.
With COVID 19 hitting our nation, the donations are down and the Alzheimer's Association needs our help more than ever. They are tightening their belts and have had to let some valuable people go in order to make themselves available to those with Alzheimer's and other dementias. Please partner with me by donating what you can to our walk team. Yes it is important for team Normal to raise more money than team Indianapolis, however, it is even more important for team ALZ to be there when people need them.
Please give what you can and thank you for believing in us as we believe in ALZ.org.
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
