This is the sixth Alzheimer's walk since my sister Deb and I lost our mother to Alzheimer's (though I was unable to walk last year due to my illness). Mom always asked if there was a cure, and I had to tell her no. I participate in the walk to honor Mom's memory and to support efforts to improve treatment and to find a cure for Alzheimer's. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050.
Sadly my mom did not live to see a cure. Our efforts can make a difference in improving outcomes for those at future risk. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
