My Mom lost her long battle with Alzheimer's in May 2014. Throughout it all, she was always gracious, usually a difficult trait for those with Alzheimer's. That was probably due to her upbringing and overall good nature. Mom was a gentle and caring soul.
Although she could no longer remember my name, she would say "I love you" and blow me a kiss as I went out the door after visiting for the day.
This is my FIFTH year leading the Peg of Our Hearts team in her honor. The team has grown substantially in both walkers and donations received and I am very proud of my teammates. I am committed to leading this team for as long as I am able.
Each of my teammates walks for a personal reason - perhaps to remember a loved one - but also to help fight this disease. Alzheimer's is the only cause of death in the top 10 that cannot be prevented, cured or slowed.
I am asking for your help!
· Click on "DONATE" to support me in helping the Alzheimer's Association advance research into treatments, prevention and, ultimately, a cure.
· If you would like to walk with me on Saturday, September 21 under the heading My Team, click on "Join My Team".
Please do this for team Peg of Our Hearts---and the special Peg of my own heart.
Thanks! I truly appreciate your support!
