Hi Friends I am so saddened to announce that the ILLINOIS VALLEY 2020 Walk to End Alzheimer’s event for September 12th has been canceled. With that being said we have been presented with new tools and ideas. We will be bringing the walk to the streets of our neighborhoods! I am still fundraising as well as I will be apart of planting the promise garden along Jordan Block in Ottawa, IL. This year I am the Chair of this walk. Covid has definitely presented some challenges I never expected to face as my first year of heading this event.
If you know me or my family well enough you know how hard this hits us. Alzheimer’s is very near and dear to my heart and I am very passionate about this walk as well as raising awareness. If you feel inclined, I am attaching the link to my page where you can read about my story as well as donate towards my walk or even join my families team! Raising $100 you earn yourself the T-shirt and you are helping those in need! My goal this year is $1,000 but I am hoping you guys can help me absolutely blow that out of the water.
Thank you for reading, your time, support, kind words, & prayers. This all means so much to me
This hits home very close for me being that I lost my Grandma Wiltse in August of 2018 and Alzheimer’s was one of things she faced on a daily basis. Both my Grandma & Grandpa Marco also lived with Alzheimer’s. As a family we all participated in caring for them along with the help of a live in caretaker. In August of 2019 we lost my Grandpa and in January of 2020 we lost my Grandma. I miss them all dearly but know they are all together again and no longer in pain. I will be participating in this walk to honor all of my grandparents. Currently there is not a cure for this disease but I have hope and until then I will help raise funds for the research and awareness. Thank you for your time, consideration, donations, and kinds words. It all means more then you will ever know.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
