I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
This is my first year participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's. I am participating in this walk in honor of my grandpa, Norman. Grandpa passed away in June 2015. I am so thankful for the time we had with him and will never forget his laugh. Grandpa really liked to "pull your leg' and was quite the jokester. I was so thankful that some of this spirit stuck around with him throughout his battle with dementia and Alzheimer's. My dream for the future is that no other family has to watch someone they love the most go through this disease.
I am passionate about this organization because of the support they provide to families that are going through this disease and also being the leading non-profit funder of Alzheimer's research. Research is key to discovering an end to this disease!
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
