The 2020 Atlanta Walk will look different this year as the Alzheimer's Association continues to monitor CDC guidelines and recommendations. Alzheimer's isn't waiting! Neither am I! I am moving forward with fundraising to make an impact on funding research with the goal "to see a world without Alzheimer's". My Promise Garden bouquet holds 4 purple flowers and a blue one for my Aunt. Three of my family members have passed away from Alzheimer's, including my Uncle Carroll "Ki" Simmons who was a 1st chair French Hornist with the Chicago Symphony. Our dear family friend's grandmother Halina Jones lost her battle with Alzheimer's a year ago. My Aunt Muriel currently has moderate-stage dementia. On 9/26, I will be putting on my new Alzheimer's walking shoes and walking in a small group of Sigma Kappa sisters observing social distancing.
Together, we can lead the way to Alzheimer's first survivor. Join my Team to walk or make a secure tax-deductible donation to My Walk Page to advance the care, awareness, and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
