Thank you for supporting my 12.5 mile swim around Key West on June 1, 2019 for the Alzheimer's association! I've been training for over 7 months to get ready for this epic 8 hour swim to help raise awareness and raise funds for the Alzheimer's Association!
Sadly, my father in-law, Ted Thomas is dealing with dementia. This disease has taken a toll on our family and it has been a real struggle. Although Ted is under great care, I can't help but wonder how many families and caretakers are struggling too? It's not easy. In fact, it's orders of magnitude harder than my swim. When I think of all the people impacted by this disease....my heart breaks.
Every breath, every stroke, every mile is for you. I greatly appreciate your support!
In the name of love....Tony Gilbert

Shout out to my mother in-law who just gets it done every day. Never complains. You inspire me.
Shout out to my cousin, Maria Yanda, and the Florida Alzheimer Association chapter for all their support. It's Maria's Alzheimer's team that has allowed me to leverage this venue to raise awareness.
