To honor my mom, who was diagnosed last year with this terrible disease. I never knew much about this disease and never truly understood the impact that is has not only on the person who has it, but the entire family. This disease is so sad for everyone involved. It robs the person of so many things....easy daily tasks, life time memories, knowledge, abilities to function and so many other things. To say that it takes a toll on the person and the family is an understatement. If we can help to find a cure....it would mean so much to us and so many other families who have dealt with this every single day.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Or you can join my team "Virginia's Journey" to help us raise funds and participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's in October.
