Another year and once again I'm proud to be supporting the Alzheimer's Association as it supports people dealing with ANY form of dementia, those debilitating illnesses that rob our loved ones of their memory. The craziness of COVID-19 has forced our Walk this year to go partially virtual with localized individual walks planned. But the fund-raising need for research and caregiver support are greater than ever.
When I first started this endeavor, I'd say "I walk for my mother," but in time I've found my motivation turn toward those loved ones in my future and my empathy for anyone dealing with this long good-bye. Dementia is widespread and a sad way to say good-bye to those we love. Time we say it's just NOT ACCEPTABLE! We can eradicate this thing, but it'll take a huge ongoing effort.
Once again I need your support to do my part! PLEASE, despite these extraordinary times, make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide. Thank you for joining our movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts here.
Want to do more? Check out www.trialmatch.alz.org to see if there's a study you could participate in regardless of your present situation. After all, that "First Survivor" will surely come from a successful research study.
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
