One of the hardest things to do is to grieve the loss of a person who is still alive. Alzheimer's robs a person from their memories and destroys their personality. It is a devastating disease for the sufferer and the families. Nothing could hurt more than having a parent who doesn't recognize you anymore. I walk to honor my dad but I also walk as a thank you to my mom who cared for him at home. We must find a cure! This horrible disease can touch you, your parents, grandparents and even your children. There will be a survivor one day - we can make that happen.
