Happy 2020 Team Lacy Love supporters!!!
Here we are again, our 7th Annual walk for Team Lacy Love!!! This year marks 5 years since my Grandpa, George Lacy passed away from this heartbreaking disease! Since it’s been 5 years, I am setting our team goal at $5,000.00! One thousand dollars for every year that he’s been gone. My grandma, Guinn Lacy passed away May 2018, she was one of my biggest supporters in this never ending effort to help raise awareness and to help find a cure! I will continue to walk and fundraise until the day I see them again!
Seven years ago I walked to raise awareness for Alzheimer's disease while helping my grandma, my mom, and my aunt take care of my grandpa who was suffering from and fighting this sad, horrible, heartbreaking disease! Six years ago I walked again, but I walked in the memory of my grandpa who passed away Janurary 16th 2015 after a long battle of Alzheimer's! You all generously helped me raise money over the past six years for the awareness of Alzheimer's.
So, I am here again in 2020 to ask you, please help me again this year in raising money and awareness and to help remember my grandpa and so many others that have been lost to this debilitating, devastating, horrible, heartbreaking disease!! We don't just need to find a cure!! We need to find better treatments!!! We need better care facilities to put our loved ones in!!! We need better training for those caring for Alzheimer's patients!!! We need one on one nurses working with them!!! We NEED MORE!! Until we find a cure!! We need more!!
Though the first year we didn't hit our goal, I set our goal high the following year, the loss of my grandpa pushed me to want to do even more, more fundraising! More awareness!! More living! Some said it couldn't be done, I set my goal too high, but wow did we prove them wrong!! We passed our goal by hundreds!! On the day of the walk we were the 2nd team out of over 100 that raised the most money for the Walk to End Alzhiemers! The day of the awards ceremony we were still in 3rd place!! Which makes me proud! And I couldn't have done it with out you all!!
So please, this year concider donating again!! Better yet please consider joining our team!! The walk this year is Saturday September 12th 2020 here in Loveland!
I won't stop fighting until we get better treatment, until we get better care and we find a cure!!
Thanks everyone! Much love...
"Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide"
Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you!
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
