Alzheimer's Disease is the most common form of dementia, which is a general term for memory loss and other cognitive abilities serious enough to interfere with daily life. More than 5.8 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 14 million by 2050. It is the 6h leading cause of death in the U.S., and in 2019 Alzheimer's and other dementias cost the nation $290B. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
The Alzheimer's Association is a fantastic organization. While they work diligently to find a cure, they are also an important resource for the people and families who are living with Alzheimer's today. Daily life with Alzheimer's is a complicated and confusing maze for all involved. The Alzheimer's Association has provided information, care options, and support to my family that has been invaluable.
