am proud that AMN Healthcare is once again a corporate sponsor and to be this year’s Team AMN Captain for the 2019 End Alzheimer’s Walk in San Diego. Alzheimer’s is a disease that took my Grandma away in 2011 at the age of 86, impacting our family many years leading up to 2011.
My Grandma Johnny had the disease for about 10 years and it gets progressively worse as time wears on. To watch her memory deteriorate was a horrible experience. She built an amazing family with 9 children (including my mom), 18 grandchildren, and many pets who she walked with several miles a day up until about 75 years old. She lit up any room with her smile and was known for telling stories and funny pranks. Until I was 10 years old, I was convinced that I would be able to take my teeth out like her someday, ha! I idolize her positivity and humor and just wish we could have had her here for longer.
I am inviting all AMN Team Members and their family and friends to join me and my family to participant in this fun walk and help raise awareness and raise money to find a cure so that other families will not need to endure this pain as my family did and I am sure many others in the AMN organization.
