To watch someone you love slowly disappear before your very eyes is not something you can even begin to describe. The best description of Alzheimer’s disease that I have yet to find is that it’s like death without dying. You go months or even years watching your loved lose their memories, forget who you are, forget how to do everyday tasks. It’s not an easy thing to go through and my mission is to make people aware that they are not alone. To spread the word about Alzheimer’s disease, to raise awareness and to one day (soon) find a cure.
Gerald Keith Perske. My hero, my grandfather, my best friend. My grandpa taught me many valuable life lessons throughout life and continues to do so even after his death due to Alzheimer’s disease. I have taken my sorrow and anger towards his passing and put it towards a more positive direction by joining the fight to end Alzheimer’s
We walk to honor those who have fought the battle against Alzheimer’s & those who are currently putting up a courageous fight
