I am walking once again this year although las with many things we have made substantial modifications and will be holding our annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s Walk as a virtual event. I am continuing to work towards a cure, raise money to help with education, support and raise money to provide 24 hr assistance via our Helpline. Alzheimer’s Disease deeply affected my family and changed me in such a profound way. I have spent the past 7 years since my father passed volunteering and working to advocate on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Association. I do this for my son, for my friends, for my community, my family, and all of those dealing with the devastating challenges brought on by Dementia and Alzheimer’s.
This has been a difficult year for so many and my heart goes out to everyone who has been affected by COVID and additionally the fires that have ripped through our Community and the entire West Coast. My teammate Nancy Rader and I did not hold our education and fundraising event at Shopper’s Corner this year and we sure did miss it. Reaching out and talking with people in our Community means so much to me and sharing a cookie and maybe a smile helps. I deeply appreciate all of my friends and families generosity over the years and again this year. I will be walking with Nancy on Saturday Sept 26 and a few friends around town, wearing our Walk to End Alzheimer’s shirts and I would love to have you take a socially distant walk with us if you are inclined. If you are able and would like to make a donation to help continue the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association it would be very much appreciated. Alzheimer’s hasn’t stopped affecting families while we are in the midst of a global pandemic.. We are resilient and relentless and I want to continue bringing attention to the need to help those living and lost to the Dementia.
Thank you so much for your friendships love and continued support.
Love,Julie Grebmeier Merrell
As I have said before, I am walking for my Dad, I am walking for my son Jackson Merrell, and I am walking for you. This is a disease that can affect anyone and any family.
Please help me by sharing this post on Facebook with your friends as well.
