I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Once again, I am participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's because I am committed to raising awareness and funds in the fight against the nation's sixth-leading cause of death. As many of you know, my mother, Marilyn, passed away several years ago from early onset Alzheimer's disease. My dear sister, Marcia, also lost her life in 2015 to this same illness at the age of 66. The end of Alzheimer's starts with me, but i can't do it alone. I am forming my team again this year, "Golden Goldberg's", in memory of my mother and sister. Please join my team, walk with Bill and I, and help us to raise donations to fund research and eradicate this awful disease. This year, due to the pandemic, we are not sure if the walk will be virtual or actual. As of now, the walk is on Sunday, October 18, 2020 in Woodley Park. Sign up under my team name to join us. There will be more details at a later date, how we will walk virtually, if that is necessary.
If you cannot join us at the walk, please help me reach my personal goal of $ 500 (which hopefully i will be increasing at a later time), by making a tax-deductible donation. Due to the pandemic, you can now deduct up to $300 per person as an above line tax donation on your tax return. I know this year has been financially challenging for many people, so even a small donation would be appreciated, if possible. This disease does not stop and we need to find a cure. You can visit my personal fundraising pager to make a secure credit card donation online, or download and print a paper form on my page to mail in with a check. All donations benefit the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association- and every dollar makes a difference in this fight.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
