IN MEMORY OF...
Shirley (Mom) and Lydia (TuTu) Pereira
Here we are again, another year has gone by and we're still in the fight to find a cure for this devastating disease. I can't believe it's been 3 years since Moms passing, I think about her and miss her every day. My mission continues as I raise funds and promote awareness about Alzheimer's/Dementia.
Last year, I had the privilege of talking to Marla Adams from Young & The Restless, who plays Dina Abbot Mergeron about the role she plays as an Alzheimer's patient. She and I along with the Director of Y&R talked about the work they're doing with the show to promote awareness. I'm very proud of Y&R for being a part of Alzheimer's Walk Los Angeles 2 years in a row.
I also enjoyed my second year as an Alzheimer's Association Walk committee member and my first year running my own Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group in the Lake Balboa area. I'm honored to be involved with a team of amazing people who are just as passionate as I am about finding a cure. We're always looking for people to join us, so if you're interested in helping, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you to those who have donated to this cause, walked with us on walk day, and all who continue to support us in our mission to find a cure for Alzheimer's Disease. Because of you, we have raised $19,416 to date and I am truly grateful!!!
Every year I raise money to find a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease.
I walk for me because I can inherit this disease,
I walk for my family who can also inherit this disease,
I walk for you because you may get this disease
and most of all,
I walk every year in memory of the beautiful woman I'm honored to call my Mom.
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
